Taronga Zoo 27/04/2013

I caught the ferry from circular quay and went out to Taronga Zoo. It's only a 15 minute or so ferry ride so not far to travel out of Sydney at all.

When you arrive you can get a monorail or a bus up to the top entrance and work your way down through all the sections to the bottom where you catch the ferry back to the city.

While there I took lots of great pictures of the animals.

Some native to Australia!

some wired awake

And others fast asleep!

Because it's not that far away from the city and on a hill as well, you get great views!

On the return ferry ride I got some good shots of the Sydney Opera House

Manly 25/04/2013

Thursday was Anzac Day in Australia (just like poppy day for us, they remember the world wars). So we had a bank holiday :)

It was a lovely sunny day so I took the ferry over to manly.

Walked along the beach

Had a nice lunch in a café overlooking the sea

Watched some people play Volley Ball

And snapped some nice pictures of the beach as I walked.

And then got the ferry back as the sun was going down.

And managed to get this amazing picture from the ferry, of the Harbour Bridge just as the sun was setting!

And I'm back at Circular Quay

Just in time for a walk back to the hotel as the moon was coming up.

Even though it's coming into their autumn it was still very warn and sunny

The life guards tent

The waves were really high! Good for the surfers (Baz!)

It was such a nice day more and more people kept coming and filled the beach

Taken from the Rocks on the south side of the beach

With a good action shot of the surfers

Now this guy know how to take a better picture!

Sydney City Tour 13/04/2013

I bought a 48 hour ticket to jump on and off a city tour bus like this

We travelled around the city and saw loads of different sites, so this is under the Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Opera House in the distance

This was meant to be me in front of the Harbour Bridge, but the Chinese man who kindly took my photo thought that the boat in the background was a better landmark!!! Thanks anyway Mr Chinese man but you really need to get your priorities sorted out! :)

Love a good panoramic!

Sydney's Botanical Gardens

Down on The Rocks

This is for Liz! Irish pub that she went into years ago.

One for Dad! I snapped this on the bus as it flew past the local post office!

And one for Mum, St Mary's cathedral (and not a bad picture too if I do say so myself!)
