Phi Phi Island

I booked a package trip to take me from Khupet to Phi Phi island that included collection from the hotel to take me to the pier. Then a boat trip to Phi Phi island, with briefs stops on the way to admire some of the other smaller islands, an hours snorkelling/swimming in the beautiful clear sea near, lunch in one of the restaurants on the island, accommodation in a nice resort, and transfers back the following day. That whole package cost me around 5000 baht £100!!!

So here's us just leaving Phuket on the way to Phi Phi island:

and here's me enjoying the boat ride:

There were lots of weird and wonderful rock formations that we passed on the way to the island.

Lots of fishing boats:

and speed boats too

Phi Phi is split into 2 islands, Phi Phi  Le and Phi Phi Dom, (little and big I think that means).

We stopped by Phi Phi Le on the way over to Phi Phi Don where we were saying the night:

Here's me with Phi Phi Le in the background (oh and a mop as well :))

Then we stopped by a man made cave in one of the rock formations;

We then switched boats and went snorkelling. Last year on holiday in Majorca I was toying with the idea of buying an underwater camera, but I couldn't find one I liked at the right price. As I said earlier everything in Thailand is cheaper than in the UK! So I took the opportunity and bought an underwater HD Video/Photo camera! It's amazing! It takes great still and video footage under the water :)

So here's me snorkelling!

Hello :)

The equipment was provided by the people organising the trip, and they took us to a really nice location to the do the snorkelling. The sea was very clear and also very hot!
So we just popped on our flippers, masks and snorkels and off we all went.

Here's some of the sea life:

And then I bumped into some scuba divers!

I popped up out of the water and saw Gandhi rowing by!! :)

We then headed back to Phi Phi island for lunch.

This is my Hut that I stayed in:

And here's the amazing view I had from my balcony!

And the rest of the hut

With a weird shutter from the bedroom to the bathroom!

These housekeepers can't make animals like the ones in Bangkok!

This is the hotels own beach!

And this is a taxi boat that can take you all around the island (as they have no cars on Phi Phi this is the quickest form of transport).

All in all it was an amazing weekend with some great pictures and videos to prove it!

Phuket

A few people said to me that I should go out and see one of the islands while I had the opportunity, I did a bit of research and found it was relatively cheap to fly and stay at one near Phuket. So on Friday after work I left for the airport. The flight to Phuket is about an hour from Bangkok so I stayed in Phuket for one night, then the next day I got the boat to Phi Phi island and stayed there for a night.

The hotels I booked were both like huts (well one was like a cabin and the other was a little hut).

The one in Phuket was very authentic looking!

The room was ok:

But the bathroom was how can a put it, VERY BASIC!

I was only there a few hours though, so it was ok just to rest my head for the night, and it only cost 1000 baht which is around £21 including breakfast!!!
