My parents arrived on Sunday night into Bangkok. Within half an hour or them arriving into the city we were on a Tuc Tuc and on our way to have a proper Thai meal!
The Tuc Tuc ride was an experience! Like all Tuc Tuc drivers he was erratic to say the least.
Here's my Mum & Dad on the Tuc Tuc, my Mum trying her best to not look scared even though she was holding on for dear life as we wiz through the streets of Bangkok! |
I asked the Tuc Tuc guy to take us to a restaurant I knew, but because it was late and the restaurant would have been closed he took us to another place. I now know why........ They are sponsored by these restaurants/bars to bring tourists to these places, that's why the fare was soo cheap!! He told me it was close by to the place I wanted to go, which it wasn't!! Luckily I knew where I was and got us back to the hotel with just a short sky train ride. Mark Kilroy was right NEVER get a tuc tuc ride, especially if you don't know the city, good job I'd been there for 2 months and knew my way around!!
The restaurant he took us to (although expensive) was actually very nice. Here's my Dad tooking into some Thai food which I never thought I'd see in a million years!!
The rest of the week saw my parents going out to visit places in Bangkok while I worked, then in the evenings we'd go out for meals together.
Sa-wat-dee kraup Thailand!!
